Spirit of Place

View towards Morecambe Bay from KayesA family business for generations, Kayes Nursery and Tea Rooms is the perfect destination. Whether you're garden lovers, or simply looking for a unique day out, a visit to Kayes Nursery and tea room in Silverdale will reward you with true spirit of place.

Established by Reginald Kaye over 75 years ago, Kayes Nursery and Tea Rooms are set back from the shores of Morecambe Bay in the village of Silverdale overlooking the distant Lakeland Fells.

Today, the historic gardens are undergoing a remarkable restoration. From the shady woodlands to the natural limestone pavement, a new garden is emerging. Using predominanly wood and glass, Kayes tea rooms have been designed to blend in with the surroundings. From inside, or on the terrace the feeling is of peace and tranquility.

Kayes is fully accessible for disabled visitors and offers home prepared food using locally sourced organic ingredients. Open Tuesday to Sunday and serving lunch and homemade cakes, Kayes is a truly peaceful place to visit and enjoy a day out. Easily reached from both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, Kayes is just a short diversion from the M6 at either Lancaster or Carnforth.

Kayes is open from Tuesday to Sunday between March and October from 10am and 5pm. Closed Mondays except Bank Holidays. Full details of our opening times outside the summer season can be found on the Find Us page.
